The OEM engine cover designed by Fiat has an incorporated factory airbox housed within the cover itself. This meant for many people, upgrading their induction kit would result in completely removing your engine cover.
Now, with the release of Forge Motorsport's carbon fibre engine cover, FMEC4, Abarth owners can enjoy the power and performance of improved induction without having to sacrifice the aesthetic appearance of their engine bay! Forge Motorsport designed Forge Motorsport's engine cover to fit perfectly alongside Forge Motorsport's induction kitFMINDF500, purposefully using carbon fibre as the material to compliment the carbon fibre canister of the induction kit.
As this was specifically designed to fit alongsideFMINDF500Forge Motorsport do not recommend, nor can Forge Motorsport confirm fitment in conjunction with alterative aftermarket or OEM induction kits.
3D Scan, CAD, and Print
3D scans of an Abarth 595 withFMINDF500installed were used to help develop this design. Forge Motorsport used influence from the design of the original engine cover, so that FMEC4 will really compliment the aesthetics of the engine bay. Once the design was developed, Forge Motorsport 3D printed a first prototype on Forge Motorsport'sFormlabs Form 3L.
The carbon fibre really helps to give the engine bay some character, blending in nicely with the carbon cannister of the Forge Motorsport induction kit. The high-quality carbon fibre isprepreg 2x2 twill formed in an autoclavefrom billet tooling and finished with an anti UV gloss gel coat. The kit comes complete with everything you need for installation. Fitting can be carried out in around 1 hour and includes a set of fullinstructions.
