Skunk2 Composite Cold Air Intake for Honda Civic Type R FN2
Upgrade the airflow, intake sound, and engine bay of your Honda Civic Type R FN2 with the Skunk2 Composite Cold Air Intake.
Originally developed for the 2006–2011 Honda Civic Si and proven through Skunk2’s technical partnership with Compass360 Racing, this high-flow intake system can also be installed on the European Civic Type R FN2 with minor trimming and modification of the surrounding plastics.
Unlike conventional aluminium intake pipes, the Skunk2 system is manufactured from moulded polymer composite. The thicker composite construction creates an effective thermal barrier, helping to reduce heat transfer into the intake air while providing a smooth and continuous internal taper.
High-Flow Composite Intake Design
The two-piece intake system uses a large 3.5-inch internal diameter lower tube and a tapered 3.5-inch to 3.0-inch upper section. This design provides a smooth transition towards the throttle body while supporting increased airflow for naturally aspirated and modified K-series engines.
The air filter is positioned facing downward, providing additional ground clearance compared with many side-mounted filter designs. The installation also retains the factory inner arch liner, helping to reduce direct exposure to water and road debris.

Installation on the Civic Type R FN2
Please note: this intake was originally designed for the 2006–2011 Honda Civic Si and is not a direct bolt-on FN2-specific kit.
Installation on the Honda Civic Type R FN2 with the K20Z4 engine requires minor trimming or modification of surrounding plastic components. Professional installation is recommended to ensure correct positioning, clearance, and secure relocation of the supplied components.
Vehicles with aftermarket throttle bodies may require a different diameter silicone connector, which is sold separately.
